The Heart of BowWow Doggie Leis BowWow Doggie Leis was born out of a heartfelt desire to celebrate our furry friends with a unique and delightful gift. The founders, Shanadore and her spouse, were inspired during a trip to Hawaii. As they explored the beautiful islands, they searched for the perfect gift to bring home to their three fur babies, Brownie, Coco, and Mia. However, their search came up empty. On the plane ride home, feeling the pangs of missing their fur babies, Shanadore had a lightbulb moment—why not create something special that would bring a piece of Hawaii home to them? That’s how the idea for doggie leis was born. Shanadore returned home and began crafting these unique, preservative-free treat leis, designed with love and care for the pickiest of fur babies. Brownie, Coco, and Mia became the first taste testers and proudly gave their paw of approval. The joy and excitement these leis brought to them sparked the realization that other pet owners would love to share the same Aloha spirit with their pets. Their story began in 2016 when Jessie rescued them along with their entire litter from a breeding operation in Chula Vista, CA. King and Legend quickly became more than just rescued pets; they transformed into Jessie's emotional support animals, providing her with a profound sense of purpose and companionship during the toughest times. Jessie often says, "I owe them my life." Their impact on her life inspired the creation of K&L Animal Rescue, driven by a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, providing them with the love and safety they deserve.
